Using the PlayStation VR2 PC adapter, gamers can access a vast library of SteamVR titles. PlayStation VR2 players can access games on PC with adapter starting on August 7.
When the PlayStation VR2 was released last year, we were excited to offer PS5 players a new era of VR gaming with cutting-edge gameplay and sensory experiences. Driven by our commitment to expanding gaming options, we’ve been working to provide access to more games on PC, enhancing the variety of PS VR2 titles available on PS5. We are pleased to announce that this support will be available starting August 7.
Players will be able to buy and enjoy a wide range of VR games from Steam, including popular titles like Half-Life: Alyx, Fallout 4 VR, and War Thunder.
To get started, players need to purchase the PlayStation VR2 PC adapter, which will be available for approximately $59.99 / €59.99 / £49.99 at select retailers and on direct.playstation.com where available. Additionally, a compatible DisplayPort 1.4 cable (sold separately) is required, along with a Steam account and a PC that meets the specified minimum requirements.
Minimum PC requirements
Here are the minimum requirements for PS VR2 gameplay on PC:
Setting up is straightforward: connect the PlayStation VR2 to your PC using the PS VR2 PC adapter and the DisplayPort 1.4 cable. Next, download the PlayStation VR2 App and SteamVR App from Steam. This process will guide you through configuring your PS VR2 on your PC, adjusting settings and play area, and starting to purchase and play games in SteamVR.
As with all PC gaming technology, performance can vary based on your PC setup, including system compatibility and the quality of your DisplayPort 1.4 cable. Make sure your setup meets the minimum requirements. Additionally, SteamVR titles have specific system requirements, so check the game information on Steam for details.
Feature differences with PS VR2 on PS5
The PS VR2 was engineered specifically for the PS5, so some features like HDR, headset feedback, eye tracking, adaptive triggers, and advanced haptic feedback are not available on PC. However, you can still enjoy many high-fidelity and immersive aspects of the PS VR2 on PC, including 4K visuals (2000 x 2040 per eye), a 110-degree field of view, finger touch detection, see-through view, foveated rendering (without eye tracking), and 3D Audio in supported games.
While the PS5 offers the most immersive PS VR2 experience, we’re excited to expand the VR game lineup available on PC with the same headset. Explore Steam’s extensive library of multiplayer open worlds, survival horror, stealth action, sports sims, puzzlers, and free-to-play favorites.
As part of our Days of Play celebration, gamers in select regions can receive $100 off the PS VR2 and the PS VR2 Horizon Call of the Mountain Bundle (for PS5) until June 12. Check direct.playstation.com (available in select markets) and local retailers for availability, as offers and promotion dates may vary by region.
